Corinne is a PhD student at UCT researching the relationship between power and transgression in the work of two contemporary women writers. She has an MA in psychology from Wits and a social work degree from UNISA where she was awarded the faculty medal for best performance in the degree. She was also the joint recipient of the English Honours prize at UNISA. Corinne has been involved in organisational development for many years and has taught courses at Wits and Stellenbosch universities covering subjects ranging from workplace democracy to literature on women’s voice(s). Her interests concern the way that power is bolstered by the margins, devolving on particular groups or individuals, often through counter-intuitive means. She currently runs a Foundation which supports environmental and educational empowerment in South Africa’s disadvantaged and rural communities.
